Keanu Reeves attended the premiere of his upcoming movie Siberia on Wednesday night (July 11) at the Metrograph in New York City.
On the movie, he plays an American who travels to Russia to sell some rare blue diamonds, but finds himself in the treacherous world of the diamond trade.
Siberia will open in theaters and on VOD on Friday, July 13.
The first trailer for Destination Wedding, reuniting Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder, was released earlier today.
Director and writer Victor Levin tells PEOPLE he was just as excited as everyone else to get these two back together.
“As a fan, I have such longstanding love for both of them and for their work, so it feels really good to see them together again,” Levin says. “And as a filmmaker, I have the benefit of their having known each other for so long. They have superb natural chemistry together, which is so important for a love story.”
Ryder’s Lindsay and Reeves’ Frank arrive at a destination wedding only to discover they’re the guests no one knows where to put, and are therefore stuck together. Though they hate each other at first, the pessimistic duo start to bond throughout the days-long affair.
“Keanu and Winona are stars for a reason: they have huge talent and skill, and they work very hard,” Levin says. But they also keep it fun. They rehearsed their dialogue together, helped each other, made everybody laugh — they were delightful. They are the movie. It’s about their characters and the healing power of love and laughter.”
Destination Wedding hits theaters August 24.
Deadline is reporting that Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are now confirmed to reprise their roles in a third Bill & Ted movie.
Bloom is launching sales in Cannes on the long-gestating time time-travel comedy, called Bill & Ted Face The Music, which is likely to be one of the hottest properties at the market.
Currently in pre-production, the movie has been written by the franchise’s original creators Chris Matheson (Imagine That) and Ed Solomon (Men in Black) with Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) confirmed to direct. Scott Kroopf (Limitless) will produce together with Alex Lebovici and Steve Ponce of Hammerstone Studios, with Steven Soderbergh serving as an executive producer alongside Scott Fischer, John Ryan Jr., and John Santilli.
When we last picked up with the most audacious dudes they were time-traveling teenagers trying to pass history class and win the battle of the bands. Once prophesized to save the universe with their rock and roll, according to the production the new movie will see the two best friends as middle age men with family responsibilities who have still yet to fulfill their destiny. They’ve written thousands of tunes, but they have yet to write a good one, much less the greatest song ever written. With the fabric of time and space tearing around them, a visitor from the future warns the duo that only their music can save life as we know it. Out of luck and fresh out of inspiration, Bill and Ted set out on another time travel adventure — with the help of their daughters, a new crop of historical figures, and some sympathetic music legends — to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe as we know it.
MGM owns the rights to the film and will release in the U.S. under their Orion Pictures banner while Bloom is handling international sales. Endeavor Content negotiated the U.S. deal. The project has already piqued the interest of buyers in Cannes, we understand.
Winter and Reeves said today, “We couldn’t be more excited to get the whole band back together again. Chris and Ed wrote an amazing script, and with Dean at the helm we’ve got a dream team!”
Keanu Reeves calmly surfs a motorcycle while sing-speaking along to Will Powers’ inspirational and affirmation-heavy song “Adventures in Success” in Squarespace’s 30-second Super Bowl spot. The ad kicks off a new campaign for Squarespace, “Make It Happen,” starring Reeves.
Reeves is the co-founder of Arch Motorcycle, which used Squarespace for its website before Reeves was approached for the ad.
Super Bowl LII begins at 6:30 p.m. EST on NBC.
